Do you just need to have a sweet at a certain time of day? For some people, it is the middle of the afternoon, after dinner, or at bedtime. But instead of scooping up high fat ice cream or a bag of candy bars, try these low calorie alternatives.
- No sugar added fruit pops - I have managed to wean myself off of ice cream with a low calorie fruit pop. They also have vitamin C, about 40 calories, and actually taste pretty good. You can buy them in the freezer section or make your own.
- Sugar Free Jello - This treat comes in dozens of flavors, and you can add some whipped topping for extra taste and few extra calories.
- Home Made SmoothiesВ - I suggest making your own, if possible, because the ones you buy out tend to have a lot of hidden calories. A couple of pieces of fruit, some ice, and some non-fatВ yogurt can beВ turned into aВ real frozenВ treat.
- Plain Fruit - When was the last time you enjoyed a fresh peach or bowl of strawberries. They are not called nature's candy for nothing. You will get to eat something sweet and tasty.. You will also be proud because you are staying the course on your diet.
Drink Yourself Thin
Are you drinking your 8 glasses of water a day? Studies have shown that many people eat because they mistake thirst for hunger. Plenty of water may also help you keep your metabolism running smoothly and aid your digestion.
Many dieters claim that carrying around a water bottle all day, when they are on a diet, has been the trick they needed to help them lose weight.
Do Not Fear The Scale!
Some popular diet plans suggest that you only visit the scale once a week. Honestly, I cannot lose weight by doing this, but need to make it a morning ritual. I understand that it is normal to go up and down a bit from day to day, but I need to see that overall trend down over the course of a whole week.
